Event Outline

Kyoto University Summer Design School is intensive three-day design workshop.

The event had more than 900 participants in total in the past four years.
In the workshop, participants and facilitators from different area of expertise form a team for each theme and challenge a variety of actual social problems.

This is the fifth year since this annual event started in 2011. For this year we have set a recommended theme “Kyoto”, and have many workshop themes related to Kyoto.

We look forward to your participation.

University undergraduate/ graduate students, company employees, etc. Participants are required to attend the whole three-day workshop with enthusiasm.

[Important Notice]  
  • Participants must attend the whole three-day program. You cannot attend only a part of the event.
  • A coffee break fee (1,000JPY) will be charged. Please pay the fee through the application site "Peatix." If you choose Convenience Store/ATM as the payment method, please note that your seat will be automatically cancelled unless you pay the fee within the assigned time limit. If you are attending the social gathering after the event, please pay the admission on-site.
  • A participant can apply for one workshop theme only.
  • If you have applied for more than one theme or you wish to change your theme to apply for, make a cancellation through the Peatix site. Please note that the cancellation fee (500JPY) may be charged. For more details, check here.

    From JR Kyoto Station to KRP

    JR San-in line (Sagano line)
    Take a local train (which stops at every station) and get off at the first stop, Tambaguchi Station (4 minutes, 140 JPY). 4 minutes to walk from the station to Kyoto Research Park.
