Ryohei Nakatsu / 中津 良平

この度、京都大学特命教授を拝命することになりました。これまで、企業や国内外の大学での生活を経験してきました。特に大学での生活のうち７年間はシンガポールのシンガポール国立大学で勤務したため、日本の大学を国外から観察する経験を持つことができました。

京都大学は多くのノーベル賞受賞者を輩出し、すぐれた教員・学生を擁し、世界でもトップクラスの大学ですが、残念ながら世界大学ランキングでは実力以下に評価されています。その最大の問題は国際性にあると考えられます。

海外の大学との連携により国際性豊かなデザインスクールとすることが私に求められていることと考え、先生方や学生諸君との共同作業によりこれを実現したいと考えます。

After working as an educator and a researcher at domestic and international universities as well as at industrial companies, recently I have been appointed as an adjunct professor of Kyoto University. As I lived recent seven years in Singapore as a professor of NUS, I had an opportunity to watch activities of Japanese universities from overseas.
Although Kyoto University has produced many Nobel prize winners and also have many skilled teachers/students, unfortunately it’s international ranking under-evaluated. Probably the main reason is that it racks of internationality a bit.
I believe I can connect Kyoto University Design School with similar organizations overseas and through it will be able to make the Design School a really international organization.
